WorldViz Releases PPT-H and PPT Studio 2008 - World's largest area immersive Virtual Reality tracking system with 32 camera capability.
Santa Barbara, CA - June 17, 2008 - The PPT-H high-end tracking system based on intelligent cameras and new PPT Studio 2008 software is the first immersive Virtual Reality tracking system that expands up to 32 cameras.
"We developed this product after carefully analyzing our customers' requirements. Our team noticed an increasing demand for cost-effective tracking systems that can cover large areas and handle full body tracking of the head, hands and feet" said Peter Schlueer, President of WorldViz. "Last year we delivered the world's largest immersive Virtual Reality system which is the size of a basketball court. This year with the new PPT-H, we are able to deliver real-time Virtual Reality tracking systems that can cover areas larger than the size of a football field while maintaining very high precision and accuracy. "
WorldViz has been the industry leader in providing large area precision tracking systems for over six years. The PPT-H presents excellent value for the real-time demands of immersive virtual reality applications. This new product provides full 6DOF capability by using an optical hybrid approach resulting in a tracking system with unparalled performance.
Building on our popular wide area tracking systems, the new PPT Studio 2008 software offers a whole suite of new tracking tools that provide 6DOF tracking for HMDs, CAVEs, body motion capture, and many other applications. WorldViz provides a free upgrade of PPT Studio 2008 software to all customers with a current PPT support contract.
WorldViz spent several years researching, programming and testing the hardware and software components of the PPT-H tracking system.
Availability and Pricing
The PPT-H is now available for shipment. Purchase price for the PPT-H with 4 cameras is $29,900 for academic customers or $34,900 for commercial customers.
