NAVTEQ signs agreement with LocatioNet Systems - The ‘amAze’
initiative led by LocatioNet to benefit from NAVTEQ global mapping
NAVTEQ (NYSE: NVT), a leading global provider of digital map data for location-based solutions and vehicle navigation, has signed an agreement to supply digital maps to LocatioNet Systems Ltd for its ‘amAze’ initiative - a white labeled mobile GPS navigation system offered to mobile subscribers free of charge.
amAze offers free navigation, mapping, local search and weather over a smart downloadable mobile phone application in 11 languages. Languages currently supported include English, French, German, Italian, Spanish, Russian, Danish, Dutch, Hungarian, Swedish and Polish, with more to be added in the coming weeks - including support for 'right to left' languages such as Arabic and Hebrew.
With this server based application, amAze customers will always have access to the latest and freshest available NAVTEQ maps without having to update the navigation software. A new and updated version 4.2 of amAze is to be released shortly. It includes many unique features which leverage new and advanced NAVTEQ content including bird-view navigation over satellite imagery, local search on several partnering yellow pages databases, updated weather forecasts and advanced user interface.

amAze customers are offered coupons and ads according to their location and, as the application is based on a smart ad-server gateway developed by LocatioNet, it is connected to several leading ad-server providers worldwide, retrieving ads relevant to each user in real-time. The ad-server gateway also offers smart sponsorship programmes and advertising which reaches the entire service.
