Mike Cottle Brings over 20 Years of Software and Wireless Experience to Telcontar Leadership Team
SAN JOSE, Calif., Sept. 15 -- Telcontar, a leading supplier of software and related services for the Location-Based Services (LBS) industry, today announced that it has appointed seasoned international sales executive, Mike Cottle vice president of worldwide sales. Cottle brings over twenty years of domestic and international sales management experience with diverse software companies in the mobile software, Internet infrastructure, GIS, and telecommunications markets.
"Mike is clearly the right person at the right time for Telcontar," said J. Kim Fennell, president and chief executive officer of Telcontar. "As location and mapping takes hold in new markets, Telcontar is poised for tremendous growth on several fronts. His demonstrated ability to build strong international sales channels is strategically important for us as we expand into the European and Asian marketplace. Mike will also play a critical role on our executive team as we build upon our partnerships at our strategic accounts. I am delighted to be adding his experience to our team."
Cottle has demonstrated the ability to grow sales and build teams in emerging technology companies. His efforts at three of those companies, HearMe, MapInfo and Interleaf have contributed to successful IPOs. Mike also brings strong understanding of Telcontar's core areas -- the wireless operator/mobile ecosystem and mapping technology.
Prior to joining Telcontar, Cottle was vice president of sales for Digital Chocolate, where he managed the sales team that doubled the company's revenue from 2004-2005 and built significant relationships with over forty major wireless carriers. He was also responsible for developing international channels in Asia, Latin America, and Japan. Prior to Digital Chocolate, Cottle held executive sales positions in the location and mapping software market with Strategic Mapping, Inc and MapInfo where he worked to build sales domestically and internationally. Cottle has also held senior sales positions at HearMe, Multigen, Sybase and Interleaf.
