SDForum Presents Third Annual Silicon Valley Ruby Conference: Using Ruby and Rails for Innovation and Creativity

SAN JOSE, Calif., April 1, 2008, SDForum, Silicon Valley's leading source of information and education in the technology community, today announced the Third Annual Silicon Valley Ruby Conference, a two-day event to be held April 18-19, 2008 at The Tech Museum in San Jose, Calif.

Keynote addresses will be delivered by Tim Bray, director of Web Technologies at Sun Microsystems, and John Lam, creator of the original RubyCLR, leading visionary for IronRuby and open source ambassador at Microsoft.

"I'm pleased to be invited to participate in SDForum's Ruby Conference," said Lam. "I look forward to meeting folks from the Ruby community in Silicon Valley, and helping them understand why we're building IronRuby and what they can expect from Microsoft in the future."

Ruby has become one of the hottest programming languages, with Ruby on Rails becoming the framework of choice for many new Web 2.0 applications. Attendees at this event will have the opportunity to interact and discuss new developments within the Ruby community, share success stories and learn more about how the programming language is rapidly optimizing Web application development and innovation.

"Ruby is a major driving force in the advancement of next-generation Web innovation," said Bess Ho, founder and chairman of Silicon Valley Web Builder, as well as the SDForum Ruby SIG chair and Ruby Conference program chair. "Silicon Valley Web Builder is proud to join SDForum in this influential conference, which will host some of the most accomplished visionaries in the field"

"The Ruby community is critical in driving Web and software development, especially in terms of pioneering next-generation Web 2.0 capabilities," said Susan Lucas-Conwell, CEO of SDForum. "Since its inception three years ago, this conference has become an increasingly in-demand venue for the exchange of ideas on Ruby and Ruby on Rails."
