Partnership to Deliver Integrated Mobile Navigation and LBS Solutions for Consumer Devices
Las Vegas, April 1, 2008 TrafficCast International, Inc., the leader in traffic data aggregation and analysis, and GeoMicro, Inc., the premier provider of dynamic data applications for mobile platforms, today announced that TrafficCast will supply road speed information for GeoMicros
Mobium GPS product. The data provided by TrafficCasts Dynaflow technology will support GeoMicros expansion of its comprehensive mobile enterprise solution to the consumer market.
Through this partnership, TrafficCasts real-time and forecast road speed information will provide travel times and support routing decisions for GeoMicros latest product offering. Mobium, an off-board GPS Navigation application, has previously been deployed with large commercial fleets and GeoMicro is poised to take the product to the broader consumer market. Mobium handles complex dynamic data integration with digital mapping applications, and together with TrafficCast, GeoMicro will bring this expertise to consumers, in particular, the prosumer market.
Consumer GPS needs are growing rapidly and through this partnership, GeoMicro and TrafifcCast will deliver up-to-date traffic information to consumers on their mobile devices, said Connie Li, president and CEO of TrafficCast. Both companies are committed to advancing the technology available to mobile navigation applications, particularly in the challenging area of dynamic data integration. We know that our traffic engineering expertise will support the needs of GeoMicro clients.
Designed for a broad range of traffic information applications and delivery platforms, TrafficCasts Dynaflow models historic traffic patterns, real-time incidents, construction, GPS data, road sensors and weather to project the most comprehensive red-yellow-green advisories of road congestion. Until recently, such calculations were only practical in the 30 markets where traditional road sensors are installed. Dynaflow expands the availability of this information, providing traffic information for the top 100 markets in the US.
GeoMicro was looking for the right partner to provide the traffic information technology we need to deliver a superior mobile navigation solution, said Karim Kaddeche, CTO of GeoMicro. TrafficCasts industry leading Dynaflow speed data adds significant value to GeoMicros mobile navigation and LBS offerings.
