From Caribbean Cruises to Hong Kong Business Meetings, AT&T Has More Bars in More Places

SAN ANTONIO, March 20 -- Going on a trip? Whether it's a spring break cruise to the islands or a business meeting in Hong Kong, AT&T has you covered. With the largest international footprint of any wireless provider, only AT&T Inc. (NYSE:T) customers can make and receive calls in more than 200 countries and on 75 major cruise ships. AT&T also offers e-mail and Web browsing capabilities in more than 145 countries.

Among the countries in which wireless data coverage is available, AT&T customers can access the high speed EDGE network in more than 95 countries and ultrafast 3G data service in more than 60 countries, including Japan and South Korea. AT&T customers can also keep in touch with family and friends while at sea with wireless service on 75 cruise ships worldwide, including Carnival, Royal Caribbean and Princess Cruise Lines.

During peak travel season, which begins with spring break and runs through summer vacation into early fall, many tourists and business people travel to Europe, and many will be traveling to the Summer Olympics in Beijing, China, this year.

Because AT&T's wireless network operates on GSM technology -- the world standard -- customers can easily connect around the globe by using the same phone and wireless number they use at home. With "plus" dialing, a feature unique to GSM technology, callers simply dial +, followed by the country code and phone number. To call back to the U.S., for example, callers need only dial +, the country code, 1 and the 10-digit phone number from anywhere overseas.

"The ability to use AT&T service around the world not only makes international travel easier and more convenient, it also provides our customers with the peace of mind that comes from knowing they can still be reached by family, friends and business colleagues on the same wireless number they use at home," said Bill Hague, executive vice president of International for AT&T's wireless unit. "AT&T is the only wireless carrier in the world that can connect customers in more than 200 countries."

Complementing its industry-leading international coverage, AT&T also offers customers the broadest array of world phones among U.S. wireless service providers. With 49 quad-band (850/900/1800/1900 MHz) devices available, such as the Nokia 6085, the BlackBerry(R) Curve 8310 and the LG Shine, AT&T now offers several devices that also work in Japan and South Korea, where a 3G device that operates on 2100 MHz frequency is required -- a significant benefit to customers because one device now works truly everywhere around the world. These include the Palm(R) Treo(TM) 750, AT&T Tilt(TM) and Samsung BlackJack(TM) II, as well as several PC cards.

AT&T offers a broad portfolio of discounted voice and data plans for international travelers:

  For voice:
-- AT&T World Traveler. For $5.99 a month, customers receive discounted
calling rates in more than 85 countries.
-- AT&T Mexico. For $4.99 a month, customers receive discounted rates when
they travel to or call Mexico.
-- AT&T Canada. For $3.99 a month, customers receive discounted rates when
they travel to or call Canada.

  For data:
-- BlackBerry International. Customers can send and receive unlimited
e-mail on AT&T approved BlackBerry devices in the U.S. and in more than
145 countries for $64.99 a month with any AT&T wireless voice plan.
-- PDA/Smartphone/iPhone International Data Plans. Travelers who need to
work while vacationing can take advantage of discounted international
data plans in 36 countries. A 20MB plan for PDAs and smart devices is
available for an additional $24.99 a month. A 50MB plan is also
available for iPhone for an additional $59.99 a month.
-- International DataConnect Plans. While abroad, travelers can maintain
wireless connectivity to work or home with a laptop card. Customers pay
$109.99 a month for unlimited data usage in the U.S. plus 100MB in
Canada and Mexico. They pay $139.99 a month for unlimited data usage in
     the U.S. plus 100MB in 36 countries.
-- Text, Picture and Video Messaging. AT&T customers can send a text
message from abroad for 50 cents a message, or they can send picture or
video messages for $1.30 a message. Home pay-per-use or package rates
apply to messages received abroad. Many customers enjoy the freedom of
sending a text message or e-mail anytime to stay in touch with friends
and family in the U.S. while traveling in a foreign time zone.

AT&T was selected as the Best Wireless Provider in the World in the 2007 Reader's Choice Best in Business Travel Awards, conducted by Business Traveler magazine.
