An update from the  Tele Atlas  DeveloperLink Program

Our recent additions to DeveloperLink were designed to address the needs of developers with a variety of interests and varying levels of LBS expertise.

  • Using Google's Android Operating System:  This sample Google Android application demonstrates how to get and use a device's location from different sources.  Source code showing how to work with maps and location providers is provided.
  • Help Using Oracle MapBuilder:  This document describes one way to use Oracle MapBuilder to view Tele Atlas' Oracle data on a map. If you don't have access to an Oracle database, Oracle Express 10G works for this sample and is a good way to get started.
  • Webinar:  Building a Web-based Mapping Application: Here is a detailed hands-on explanation on how to build a mapping web application from the ground up.  The webinar covers the initial setup, geocoding, zooming and panning, and rendering points-of-interest or other artifacts on the map.  Click here to review the webinar or its associated white paper and source code.
  • Research:  Wireless Market Overview: Review the latest m:Metrics research which compares phone usage across the United States and Europe and includes data comparing access method usage between SMS, Browsers or Application Downloads.
  • Refer a Colleague:  Now there is an easy way to tell other LBS professionals about the resources available on DeveloperLink.  Click on the orange Refer a Colleague button located along the left side of the DeveloperLink page.  Simply enter your colleague's E-mail address to send a DeveloperLink invitation E-mail.  The invitation E-mail can be edited to include your personal remarks.
