Head of Profession for Analysis for Greater Manchester Police moves into newly created public sector role with the world's leading location intelligence specialists

Windsor - 26th February 2008: Pitney Bowes Inc. (NYSE: PBI) today announces the appointment of Ian Broadbent as EMEA Strategic Industry Manager for Policing and Crime Analysis, based at Pitney Bowes MapInfo in Windsor.

In recognition of the burgeoning need for effective location-based crime analysis solutions across EMEA, Pitney Bowes MapInfo has created a new role within its established public sector division with this strategically critical appointment. Reporting to Steven Feldman, Director of Business Development EMEA, Broadbent is charged with establishing the Policing and Crime Analysis division with core focus on driving adoption of organisation-wide location intelligence solutions and enabling the sharing and analysis of crime data across forces and borders.

Broadbent brings almost 20 years of senior-level crime analysis expertise from West Midlands, Staffordshire and latterly the Greater Manchester Police forces to provide unprecedented knowledge of analytical processes and products from a user perspective.  He held responsibility for the development of research and analysis at a local and force level within Greater Manchester Police (GMP) and previously with Staffordshire Police, where his remit included the provision of consultancy and briefings to the Association of Chief Police Officers
(ACPO) and Divisional Commands on volume crime and serious and organised crime analytics and processes.
