FAST 4.0 software enables BlackBerry users to quickly capture field data
February 21, 2008 GeoAge, a leading supplier of mobile automation solutions, has
released its next version of FAST (Field Adapted Survey Toolkit), a software program
designed to rapidly capture field data and respond effectively with instant reporting and
mapping. GeoAges new release now supports BlackBerry® smartphones in addition to
Windows Mobile devices.
Designed for high performance enterprise-wide uses, FAST
4.0 also adds critical data export capabilities and performance upgrades designed to
enable greater user flexibility in handling large projects.
FAST 4.0s ability to run on BlackBerry smartphones enables millions of BlackBerry
users to experience rapid form design, real-time data capture, instant reporting and
mapping, said Jeff Arnold, president of GeoAge. Coupled with improvements in
performance and usability, FAST is now better able to handle significant business
process upgrades in many organizations.
FAST 4.0s main upgrades:
Available on BlackBerry smartphones
Enhanced survey / form creation capabilities
Improved synchronization and summarizing tools
Improved data import capabilities
Since its introduction in 2005, FAST has enabled unparalleled capability for mobile data
collection. FAST software was designed for rapid deployment of mobile digital forms
using PDAs, laptop or tablet mobile computers. FAST also allows easy integration of
GPS locations, photographs, videos and digital signatures with data records. Users can
implement large-scale FAST data collection solutions over a nationwide area and begin
work on the same day.
FAST solutions are comprised of FAST Designer, FAST PDA, and FAST Collector.
FASTs Designer component allows existing forms to be customized or new forms to be
quickly created in minutes instead of days or weeks using traditional methods. The
form creation capability is excellent for rapid response and field data collection.
Having a powerful mobile data collection capability can be a great benefit to BlackBerry
users in university research, business intelligence, field workforce management,
engineering, sales, operations and manufacturing, noted Mr. Arnold. And it is now
incredibly convenient for mobile professionals to use FAST software on BlackBerry
smartphones.
GeoAges FAST 4.0 software with BlackBerry availability has several distinct capabilities,
compared with its operation on Windows Mobile 5 and 6 devices. For example, FAST
PDA access is via a web connection, no software installation is required. FASTs
BlackBerry component and FAST Collector will be sold by subscription or server license.
FAST has delivered cost- and time-saving benefits, in addition to performance gains, in
both workgroup and enterprise deployments. Local offices and projects have automated
many mobile data collection requirements via FAST. Large statewide and nationwide
enterprise users with FAST Xchange and up to hundreds of mobile field team members
have experienced the power of FAST. With its fully-scalable capability, FAST offers many
different configurations to suit specific user needs. FAST 4.0 is now available from
GeoAge as well as its agent and re-seller network.
GeoAges FAST 4.0 is now available for BlackBerry smartphones. FAST software was designed
for rapid deployment of mobile digital forms using PDAs, laptop or tablet mobile computers.
FAST also allows easy integration of GPS locations, photographs, videos and digital signatures
with data records. Users can implement large-scale FAST data collection solutions over a
nationwide area and be productive on the same day.
GeoAges FAST 4.0 Designer component features many upgrades in performance, user-friendly
functions and enhanced user interface. It allows existing forms to be customized or new forms to
be quickly created in minutes instead of days or weeks. This form creation capability is
excellent for rapid response and field data collection in university research, business intelligence,
field workforce management, engineering and in sales, operations and manufacturing.
