AtlasCT releases version 3.0 of AtlasMobile™ SDK an advanced package for location-based mobile applications development

Ramat-Gan, Israel, February 12, 2008 – AtlasCT, a developer and provider of worldwide mapping solutions for both web and mobile platforms, is announcing the release of version 3.0, the newest version of AtlasMobile™ Software Development Kit (SDK), an advanced package for mobile-based maps and location-based applications development.

The AtlasMobile SDK is a rich package designed for fast deploying of location-based mobile applications. The SDK is a client side set of advanced components, which implements a variety of mapping capabilities and geospatial services.
The development package modular and open architecture enables high flexibility in application development. It has a small footprint and is optimized for high performance and low memory usage making it compatible with low-end to high-end mobile devices. It is the development tool of the AtlasMobile platform.

Lately we can see a growing market demand for location-based social networking applications. This type of applications can be developed straightforwardly by making use of the new version of AtlasMobile SDK. Creating mash-ups, displaying friends on the map and tagging photos to the user’s current location are now possible even on the highly constrained environment of the mobile handset.

AtlasMobile SDK is available for Java™ ME™ and for Windows® Mobile® (.NET™ Compact Framework) environments.

Version 3.0 provides additional features and enhanced functionality, the highlights are: • High quality interactive map allowing quick panning and zooming • Search addresses, local Points-of-Interest (POIs) and driving directions • Support for worldwide street maps, satellite imagery and hybrid maps • Custom layers and dynamic content display • GPS support for both internal and external receivers • Keypad and touch screen support • Plug-ins and Widgets functionality support

As a pioneer in developing technologies for streaming maps online for mobile devices, the latest version of the SDK utilizes AVS™ technology, AtlasCT’s propriety technology specially optimized for mobile devices, in addition it supports a range of standard raster and vector formats including SVGT and Adobe® Flash® Lite™.

“This new version of the AtlasMobile SDK offers high flexibility in deploying and porting Web 2.0 applications with advanced mapping capabilities” said Danny On, SVP Marketing & Business Development “developers can now build location-based services (LBS) for mobile devices, in a way that has never been so easy and powerful; we believe it will take location-based applications to a new level of performance and user experience”.
