Spime Inc, a leading provider of location intelligence solutions, today
announced that SiRF, a leading provider of GPS-powered location
platforms, will be demonstrating Spime NorthStar during the 3GSM
Mobile World Congress 2008 to showcase SiRFs new SiRFStudio
location-enabling platform. The demonstration will be held at the SiRF
booth, Hall 1, Stand F06.
Spimes NorthStar is a GPS turn-by-turn navigation application for mobile devices, and is built on SiRFstudio, a standards-based, end-to-end location services enabling platform that makes it easy to provide LBS functionality across a broad range of mobile devices via a single set of APIs.
The demo will feature NorthStars Meeting Manager widget, built on top of Spimes Widget Application Platform (SWAP). With its APIs and tools, SWAP enables third-party developers to build nav-enabled widgets that are integrated with local information on the users phone (address book, calendar, email) as well as with content from POI, weather, traffic, social event and other providers.
Meeting Manager allows users to select a venue in their vicinity, select a time based on their calendars schedule availability, and share it with contact members using the address book. Members who are notified via email or SMS receive the meeting information along with directions.
The Meeting Manager also highlights the Spime Location Advertising Platform (SLAP). SLAP enables applications with location-centric ad-content provided by third parties.
