AIS Sites Established in Chile and Mexico Enhance Security and Efficiency of Port Operations
SEATTLE--SARS Corp. (OTCBB:SARO) (SARS), a leading provider of remote asset management and telematics solutions, today announced it has expanded its international network of Automatic Identification System (AIS) sites with the addition of five sites in Chile and three in Mexico. The AIS sites, part of the SARS® Marinetrac® service, enable ports to track offshore vessels, thereby enhancing the security and efficiency of port operations.
Chilean AIS site locations include Antofagasta, Iquique, Valparaiso, San Antonio, and Talcahuano. AIS site locations in Mexico include Cozumel, Coatzacoalcos, and Ensenada.
SARS international network of AIS receivers delivers vessel traffic information for key ports and waterways, as well as marine domain awareness surrounding offshore oil rigs. The AIS receivers are developed by Shine Micro, Inc., a leading developer of marine electronics specializing in AIS and wireless technologies.
Shine Micro is recognized worldwide as a leading figure in the field of AIS technology and is a preferred equipment supplier for military and regulatory authorities, said Clayton Shelver, CEO of SARS Corp. Integration of Shine Micros AIS equipment into SARS Marinetrac provides ports and shipping companies with one of the most advanced, commercially available solutions on the market for vessel tracking.
Using SARS Marinetrac AIS solutions, ports and shipping companies receive critical information such as the identification, position, course, and speed of vessels. Users zoom in and out on satellite-generated globes and maps that can be customized to show layers of information such as borders, gridlines and roads.
SARS Marinetrac AIS solutions integrate with all major satellite and terrestrial communications systems and support all major hardware platforms. Widely disparate monitoring systems and methods are combined into a single platform, then streamlined and delivered to customers via a simple, Web-based interface.
