CHICAGO, Dec. 10 -- NAVTEQ (NYSE: NVT), a leading global provider of digital map data for location-based solutions and vehicle navigation, has been chosen as the map data provider for ServicePower Technologies, Plc. Specifically, NAVTEQ map data will be utilized in ServiceNavigation, a routing application that provides graphical and voice annunciated turn-by-turn directions.
ServiceNavigation utilizes NAVTEQ's comprehensive U.S. map data to pinpoint service vehicles and easily route them to the location of the next job. Routing is available via a graphical interface, voice-guided navigation, and turn-by-turn directions. To help reduce routing errors due to incorrect address input by end users, ServiceNavigation employs an address purification process that utilizes sophisticated algorithms to identify and correct the erroneous addresses information. Additionally, the application can be implemented on a variety of mobile devices including PDAs and cell phones in order to optimize service scheduling for a wide range of end users.
