AURORA, Ill., Aug. 10 - Clarity Communication Systems, Inc., a provider of Location-Based Services (LBS), Push-to-Talk (PTT) solutions, and custom product solutions for the mobile marketplace, announced today their critically acclaimed personal safety application, Whereabouts(TM), is now available for evaluation by wireless carriers and application service providers.
Whereabouts, a positioning determination system that enables parents to use their cell phones or the Internet to instantly locate family members, won top honors at the 2005 NAVTEQ Global LBS Challenge in the Personal Security Category. The Whereabouts product is unique in that all of its of LBS capabilities -- such as real time navigation, routing, emergency notification, and instant communication -- are seamlessly integrated into a single application.
"Just read the news and we can see why personal safety is becoming the #1 family priority," states Lisa Carter, Clarity's Vice President of Business Development. "Whereabouts brings position determination technology within reach of everyday cell phone users. Now, users can literally turn their cell phones into safety devices -- without interrupting normal activities."
