From Nokia... it's Mobile Rules! Designed for those innovative minds.  The goal of the competition is to further drive the aspects of miniaturization, green technologies, and performance in Mobile technologies.

Winners will be selected in 4 categories with 3 finalists being announced in each category.

About the competition (Source; Nokia)

Nokia recently announced the opportunity for innovative companies to win the chance to open contract negotiations to supply Nokia. The Technology Innovation Competition is seeking innovations with particular focus on miniaturization, enhancing device performance and reducing environmental impact. Entrants must submit a descriptive technology abstract together with key differentiators and its advantages including fact based indication of the maturity level and application areas and be ready to apply their solutions to the mobile market.

The competition has four streams:

  1. ‘Mobile Multimedia Experience’ seeks innovations in the areas of audio, camera and display technologies
  2. ‘Future Device Architecture’ demands innovations in processing speed and energy consumption
  3. ‘User Interfaces’ requires innovations that boost intuitiveness and haptics
  4. ‘Touch and Feel’ is looking for innovations in look & feel, form factor, durability and movement

Three finalists will be selected from each of the four streams. The 12 finalists will be invited to participate in an innovation exhibition at Nokia headquarters in Finland in April 2007 where they will demonstrate their innovations and discuss them with Nokia decision makers.

The competition can be entered at http://www.mobilerules.org/technology/ . The deadline for entries is 25th January 2008.
