St Helier, Jersey, United Kingdom, 11/12/2007 - 3dtracking now provides
their service to users of Symbian smartphones, as well as users of the
new range of Nokia phones.
As part of the ongoing development of their tracking-related services, 3dtracking now provides their free service to users of Symbian smartphones (S60 version 2 and version 3). This includes the new range of Symbian phones with built-in GPS, such as the Nokia N82, Nokia N95 and Nokia 6110 Navigator. The Symbian application, which has been fully certified and SymbianSigned, is available for download on the 3dtracking website. 3dtracking has also added a number of new features to their free tracking service, including the ability for users to display a Google Map on their own personal websites that displays their latest tracking position. This means that 3dtracking users can allow reader/friends/family to track their positions, but do not have to give up any account details to anyone.
The new Symbian applications have been top priority for the past few months, says Roydon Michael, Director of 3dtracking in the United Kingdom. With the popularity of the new GPS-enabled Nokia phone range, weve have thousands of requests to provide a software solution that can take advantage of the great new hardware features Nokia have on offer. Were glad to be able to say that we now have that software, and the extra time in obtaining full Symbian certification shows how serious we are about building quality applications for our users. The external mapping is also a feature were particularly proud of, and we cant wait to see what uses our customers make of it. Weve already tracked marathon runners and cyclists in actual races, as well as tracking Lewis Gordon Pugh in his 4 week record-breaking swim down the length of the Thames River in 2006.
Other new services being offered by 3dtracking include the ability to add multiple devices to a single user account, and also the ability to add hardware such as a TrimTrac or other approved tracking devices. These services are offered for a low annual fee per additional phone/PDA or piece of hardware added to each user account.
At 3dtracking, we have been working incredibly hard at increasing not only our range of products and services, but also the value of what we offer our users. With tens of thousands of people utilizing the 3dtracking service on a daily basis, weve been able to listen to user feedback in developing all our service ranges into functional tools that help people and businesses manage their resources. The Symbian application and external mapping are just two of the many new features on offer, with others including a range of new reports and alerts for our commercial vehicle and fleet users.
3dtracking is a global vehicle tracking and fleet management service.
