ORLAND PARK, Ill.---Aug. 9, 2005--Andrew Corporation will offer mobile location systems to Nokia's GSM network base station subsystem (BSS) customers under an agreement completed between the two companies. In addition, Andrew will license from Nokia certain technologies that will be used in the supplied location systems.
Under the agreement, operators of GSM wireless networks worldwide in which Nokia BSS infrastructure equipment is deployed will be able to purchase the Andrew location systems to support location-based commercial value-added services, public safety emergency caller location services, and security applications.
"Our collaboration with Nokia will enable our companies to offer world-class solutions to Nokia customers around the world to support new and enhanced location-based services," said Terry Garner, group president, Network Solutions, Andrew.
