Thirty-three Business and Consumer Data Variables are Available for Download
CHICAGO, Nov. 9 -- NAVTEQ (NYSE: NVT), a leading global provider of digital map data for vehicle navigation and location-based solutions (LBS), and Primus Geographics announce the availability of
thirty-three U.S. business and consumer data variables for download at http://www.NAVmart.com. The extended map content data is aligned with NAVTEQ administrative boundaries and is available for use by the Oracle development community. The availability of the data content download is an extension of the map data boundary program announced last year by NAVTEQ and Oracle.
NAVTEQ, Primus Geographics, and Oracle recognize the importance of extended map content data sets for the Oracle location ecosystem-particularly for the emerging Oracle business intelligence community. The thirty-three U.S. business and consumer data variables include Population (2000 Census, Current Year, 5-Year, and 10-Year); Risk (Quake, Hurricane, Tornado, and Weather); Business Establishments (Total, Total Employees, Banks & Financial and Insurance); and Income (Median, Average, and seven income tiers). All business and consumer variables are available for download at the U.S. county geographic unit. Additionally, these variables and thousands more are available at the higher resolutions of U.S. zip codes and U.S. census geographies.
"We are pleased to continue to collaborate with Primus Geographics and Oracle by bringing demographics and business content to the Oracle community," stated Roy Kolstad, vice president and general manager-Enterprise Americas, NAVTEQ. "This arrangement is a big win for Oracle business intelligence users as they can now easily download and incorporate NAVTEQ map data and Primus Geographics' aggregated business and consumer variables for review and deployment."
"By unlocking the hidden value of location in enterprise databases, and combining these location characteristics with business and consumer variables, Oracle developers and users have the opportunity to supply solutions that deliver true value to corporate management," said Guy Larson, President of Primus Geographics. "As a company, we are committed to supporting the data downloads as well as providing the most detailed content required by the Oracle community."
