Several next-gen telcos, as well as industry giants, now use Maponics
Telecom Boundaries. Up-to-date boundaries for rate centers, LATAs,
and area codes have been officially released today for licensing.
November 6, 2007 -- Maponics announced today the official release of its telecom map data, a critical tool for analyzing and displaying market coverage areas and planning direct marketing initiatives. Accurate boundaries, flexible licensing and a la carte, customizable layers make Maponics Telecom Boundaries the best way to ensure market effectiveness while complying with FCC and anti-trust regulations.
Industry leaders are already using Maponics rate center and LATA boundaries, coupled with internal data, to advertise service coverage areas via interactive web-based mapping applications (also provided by Maponics). Ideal for direct marketing planning, several next generation telecom companies are also employing Maponics Telecom Boundaries to visualize ZIP Code and rate center overlap. This helps ensure that only households within contracted areas are targeted.
Maponics has long offered the premier database of telephone exchanges NPANXX codes, which includes latitude and longitude, as well as ZIP Code references, explains Director of Mapping & Data Operations, Steve Zuckerman. Now, with our telecom GIS data files for rate centers, LATAs, and area codes (NPAs) plus more products in the works we offer a well-rounded product line for spatial analysis in the telco world.
Using a proprietary process, Maponics builds rate center map boundaries from base geography to ensure a high quality product, and then links rate centers to create LATA and area code boundaries. Maponics licenses rate center boundaries, area codes, and LATA coverages in GIS data formats ESRI® shapefile and MapInfo® tab plus other database-loadable formats. Compatible add-on data includes ZIP Codes, carrier routes, and demographics.
