November 05, 2007  - Business plans stream of Nokia Mobile Rules! competition closes on 16th November

The Mobile Rules! competition was launched in the summer by Nokia, together with a number of high-profile sponsors. Designed for developers and entrepreneurs working in the mobile space, the competition is divided into two 'tracks'. The first is for entrepreneurs, small businesses, start-ups, academic institutions and individuals and aims to find the most innovative new business models, products and services for the mobile world. The closing date for entries is 16th November 2007.

The second stream, which closes on 25th January, is aimed at qualified developers working on mobile applications for Nokia platforms in four categories: 'multiplayer and connected games', 'multimedia', 'enterprise' and 'infotainment'.

The winners of both streams will be announced at a ceremony in San Jose on 21st March 2008.

Vesa Luiro, Director, Communication Solutions with Nokia, said: "The number and standard of entries in this, the second year of the competition, has been very high and we encourage any individual or organization wishing to participate to submit an entry as soon as possible."

The grand prize for the winning business plan is a business contract with Nokia or one of the other competition sponsors, or USD 20,000 - including a right to use the title Mobile Ruler! 08. Other prizes include Nokia devices, promotion of the winning plan through channels owned by competition sponsors, expert advice from Nokia specialists, a deep dive workshop with IDEO and Business Plan Pro Premier software from Palo Alto Software.
