-
Global Telecom Company to Provide Support Network for AirSage
Atlanta, Ga. October 30, 2007 AirSage announces that is has signed a contract with Orange Business Services to enhance its communications infrastructure. Orange Business Services, one of the worlds leading communications solutions providers, will provide the infrastructure and data management services for AirSages Wireless Signal Extraction (WiSE) technology.
AirSage's technology represents a breakthrough in the delivery of real-time traffic information. Through unique partnerships with carriers, AirSage aggregates and analyzes wireless network data, and converts it into valuable traffic information at a fraction of the cost of traditional systems. For the first time, traffic management operations can extend beyond the metro-area highways to deliver traffic travel times and roadway speeds on the entire road network, including arterials and rural roads.
As AirSage continues to expand roadway coverage across the U.S., providing hundreds of thousands of miles of traffic information to customers, we needed to ensure the stability of our platform with a reliable, robust infrastructure, said Cy Smith, founder and CEO of AirSage. Our relationship with Orange Business Services will deliver the operational stability and redundancies that our customers require.
AirSage turned to Orange Business Services to provide the base infrastructure for AirSage's real-time traffic information platform. The solution consists of Orange Business Services hosting and managing servers in their data center (SAS 70 certified) and providing IT and integration services for AirSage. AirSage chose Orange Business Services not only because of its technical expertise and innovation in the Americas, but also because it has tremendous global reach with "feet on the street" in 166 countries. In addition, Orange has mobile operations in 23 markets.
With Orange Business Services managing the communications infrastructure, AirSage can focus its resources on its core business -- providing real-time traffic information to government agencies, media, navigation companies and consumers.
