CTIA attendees invited to participate in voting to select winner

San Francisco, CTIA Wireless I.T & Entertainment, October 23, 2007 — Tele Atlas (FSE: TA6, EUNV: TA), a leading global provider of digital maps and dynamic content for navigation and location-based solutions, today named the finalists for the Tele Atlas Maps in Apps 2007 contest. Based on the application usability, innovative use of map data and market potential of their LBS applications, three finalists were selected to demonstrate their new location-based solutions in the Tele Atlas booth (#1309) at CTIA.  Visitors to the Tele Atlas CTIA booth will vote for their favorite application; ballots also are available at http://www.teleatlas.com/LBSSeries/MAFinalists/ , www.blackberrycool.com and www.LBSZone.com.

Maps in Apps is part of the Tele Atlas LBS Innovators Series, an ongoing program held in conjunction with Tele Atlas DeveloperLinkSM to help foster innovation and enable application developers to expand their visibility, credibility and success with key participants in the industry including investors, carriers and technology providers. The Maps in Apps 2007 contest was created to help spur the growth of consumer and business applications that utilize mapping or location to enhance functionality. The featured finalists are:

§         Slifter (a GPShopper application):  Using a user's zip code or a phone's GPS/LBS, Slifter allows shoppers to search local store inventory for products (over 85 million products at 30,000 retail locations), view product information, images and store locations and maps. Shoppers can share their finds with friends or save them to a mobile shopping list.

§         Hollywood USA:  This tour guide features movie locations across the country with added GPS deployment on the uLocate – WHERE platform. Each site includes location photo and address, scene and plot description, stars, director and DVD cover image.

§         KnowledgeWhere PhoneTag Elite™:  Developed in partnership with LivePlanet, "PhoneTag Elite" incorporates location-based mapping and messaging technology to create a hi-tech game of hide and seek. Players can play with anyone across the United States by participating in existing games, creating private games with friends, or participating in cash tournaments.  Objective of game play is to capture your target while evading capture.

One grand prize winner will be awarded $25,000 in cash and a license to Tele Atlas map data valued at $50,000; two runners up each will receive $10,000 in cash and a license to Tele Atlas map data valued at $20,000.  Additionally, Tele Atlas named two semi-finalists in the contest:  eureka!mobile, a mobile couponing application, and Smarter Agent, a mobile search application for real estate.

“Mobile devices are increasingly equipped with GPS functionality and developers are proving that maps can enhance nearly every mobile application.  We are pleased to showcase at CTIA the innovative use of location information from this year’s Maps in Apps finalists GPShopper, Hollywood USA and PhoneTag Elite,” said Darrin Wilkey, senior manager, wireless markets, Tele Atlas. “Through the LBS Innovators Series, Tele Atlas continues to support application developers and remains committed to driving market development that will ultimately provide consumers with a more personalized, location-enhanced mobile experience.”
