Once again, Spatial Media has released the weekly edition of the LBSzone Alert, our weekly recap of the location-based services (LBS) space.
Introduction:
Once again CTIA Wireless IT is just
around the corner. The event will offer developers and mobile technology
innovators a chance to connect with others, showcase some creative apps, and
maybe pick up a few ideas from some of the leading names in mobile. Once again,
LBS will be quite prominent at CTIA and opportunities are plentiful for you to
have a very productive 3 days in the Bay area. Nokia will be front and center
and pretty much everywhere (also, look for the S60 team)- Experience the
possibilities of anytime, anywhere Internet, including services that will be
part of Ovi, Nokias recently announced Internet services offering. Explore
N-Gage and SNAP mobile games; play, sync and manage music; watch videos with
Sling player and Orb; and check out Nokia Maps and GPS all on their latest
Nseries multimedia computers and Internet tablet, including the new N81 and N95
(now optimized for North America). If you want to connect with some Nokia people
I suggest you check out the Nokia MOSH Party Tuesday, October 23 at Ruby Skye.
Also on Tuesday, the Nokia S60 team will be hosting an evening with S60, a cozy
event designed to make you more familiar with anything and everything S60 - see more Here. If you
can get to San Fran on Monday there's lots of pre-conference activities
including the Smartphone Summit - a fantastic lineup of presenters. There's also NAVTEQ
Connections 2007 - Participants at this one-day event will have the unique
opportunity to network with and hear from industry-leading developers, device
manufacturers, wireless carriers and solution providers bringing
location-enabled services and technology to the mobile world. Finally, on
Tuesday (Oct 23) there's the first annual SiRFecosystems Location 2.0
Summit. Andrew Seybold, one of the most respected and influential champions
of mobile wireless innovation, will be hosting this invitation-only event.
Finally, here's a tip on an interesting panel Commercializing Location Based
Services, taking place in Room 200, Oct. 23, 1:00-2:30 p.m. These are just a
sampling of the LBS-centric activities taking place at CTIA Wireless IT &
Entertainment... maybe I'll see you there!
