Movial Launches Internet Experience Suite for Linux Device Manufacturers
SANTA CLARA, Calif.-- Movial, the company that inspires rich, intuitive Internet experiences, today announced it has been selected by ARM (LSE: ARM; Nasdaq: ARMHY) to create a Linux platform to help mobile device companies very quickly and easily create next-generation mobile applications. Movial and ARM will offer the Linux software platform free to device manufacturers around the world, and will unveil the platform at the ARM Developers Conference this week. Movial also announced it is launching Movial IXS (Internet Experience Suite), an application suite for custom-branded user interfaces for Linux-based connected devices.
Under the agreement between ARM and Movial, the companies are to provide device manufacturers with tools that enable quick market launches of new devices boasting Internet connectivity for browsing, communications, entertainment, and navigation. The partnership aims to improve existing open source projects focused on the Internet experience, and the use of technologies, including Gnome Mobile, for application framework and the Mozilla browser technology. The co-developed Linux platform enables device manufacturers to create products using generally-available open source software with a product line approach.
ARMs connected mobile computing program helps companies bring connected devices to market more quickly and thus drive consumer choice, said Mike Inglis, executive vice president of sales and marketing at ARM. Movial experts know the mobile Internet experience inside and out, and we look forward to working with them closely to enable significant innovation and growth in this sector.

We are delighted to support ARMs significant push to improve the mobile Internet experience, said Tomi Rauste, president of Movial Creative Technologies. With the free Linux platform we are creating, and Movials Internet Experience Suite, device manufacturers can quickly and easily create new, differentiated products with highly-desirable, custom developed user interfaces.
