CNET Launches Call for Entries for Best of CES Awards

Honoring the Hottest Products at the 2008
International Consumer Electronics Show
SAN FRANCISCO-- CNET (www.cnet.com), where people go to discover the
latest tech and consumer electronics, and a property of CNET Networks, Inc.
(Nasdaq:CNET), today announced it is now accepting entries for the Best of CES Awards at the 2008
International Consumer Electronics Show (CES) in Las Vegas. Each year, CNET
editors receive hundreds of entries from companies hoping to be selected as one
of the hottest products at the show.
Submission is free and can be accessed through an online form at http://www.cnet.com/best-of-ces. The deadline to submit is
November 30, 2007. Awards are given in 10 categories, including Best of Show and
the Peoples Voice, which is chosen by CNETs online audience. The winners of the Best of CES awards are
selected by the CNET editors, who are looking for the most innovative product
that will set the standard from which all other products are measured in the
coming year. Last years winner of the most popular
categories, MP3 and Portable Audio, went to SanDisk Sansa Connect.

selected as a winner of CNETs Best of CES Award in 2007, which
demonstrates our commitment to produce an innovative product for consumers to
enjoy, said Eric Bone, vice president of marketing for
SanDisks audio/video business group. Theres no other place where
companies can find this type of validation where they are judged and selected by
editors who review hundreds of products every day. This is a very notable and
respected accolade that garnered us lots of additional attention at the show and
beyond.
There is no other show like CES, where hundreds of
companies launch the latest products to enhance our daily lives, said Jai Singh, editor-in-chief of CNET and senior vice
president for Content Development. Its our responsibility to the thousands of people who attend
and our online audience to help them explore a world gone digital. The Best of CES awards helps us boil
down the top consumer electronics that will impact the future of
technologies.
To qualify, all products must be on exhibit at the 2008 International CES in
Las Vegas. Companies have the choice of submitting their product(s) for one of
the following award categories: Digital photo and video; car tech and GPS; cell
phones and smart phones; computers and hardware; emerging technologies; gaming;
home audio; home video; MP3 and portable video players; and televisions.
Product demonstrates its potential to:
Pioneer a new category, establish an emerging
category, or take an existing category to a new level.
Excite people with its style, innovation,
usefulness, ease of use, and/or capability to entertain.
Endow its owners with a certain cachet, the cool factor.
Make its way into everyday life.
The deadline for submissions is November 30, 2007. CNET editors will select
three finalists in each of the ten categories. Additionally, the editorial team
will choose one product for the Best of Show award, which recognizes the top
product among the ten winners of the Best of CES 2008 Awards. Consumers at home
that are actively following CNETs in-depth coverage of
the show can participate by voting for their favorite product to win the Peoples Voice award.
Finalists will be announced on Tuesday, January 8, 2008 at 10 a.m. live on
the CNET Stage in the South Hall lobby, second floor. Winners will be announced
on Wednesday, January 9, 2008 at 2 p.m. also live on the CNET stage.
