Blue Sky Network Introduces Dual Mode Satellite and Cellular
Global Asset Tracking Solution with Integrated Security Features
Tracking solution has satellite and cellular connectivity for constant fleet tracking, 2-way messaging and safety alerts
LA JOLLA, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Blue Sky Network, the global
logistics solution provider for two-way linking and managing
transportation assets via satellite, today announced the latest
addition to its asset and fleet tracking product line with the D3000
transceiver. This solution is unique in its combination of Iridium
Satellite and GSM/GPRS connectivity, offering the advantages and
cost-efficiency of dual connectivity, along with new security features,
GPS integration, global remote asset tracking and two-way text
messaging.
From anywhere on the globe, the D3000 enables communication, asset
tracking, trip and event reports and secure, interactive, online
mapping services. With both GMS/GPRS and Iridium Satellite
connectivity, the D3000 provides least-cost routing, automatically
switching communications to utilize the most economic connection
available. The portable and lightweight device is installed into a land
vehicle or marine vessel quickly and simply, deriving power directly
from the vehicle or vessel itself. Controlled from a high resolution
LCD display and an easy to use keypad, the D3000 can optionally be
configured with voice capability for Iridium Satellite or GSM.
To expedite supply chain and fleet management in remote or dangerous
conditions, the D3000 also includes the vehicle and personnel security
features of panic alerting and geo-fencing. Vessel and vehicle
operators can activate various alerts to preconfigured cell phones and
email addresses and can also have an alert displayed for dispatchers
and fleet managers on the SkyRouter map interface.
The D3000 significantly improves efficiency and safety of various land
or marine fleets worldwide which operate in hostile or generally
inaccessible locations, said Jon Gilbert, president, founder and CEO
of Blue Sky Network. No location is out of reach or communication
range, granting organizations and fleet managers an entirely new level
of global access and security.
The D3000 works in connection with SkyRouter, Blue Sky Networks asset
management portal. This web-based software is used for asset tracking
and communications and integrates easily with Google Earth. The onboard
unit transmits reports from the remote assets directly to the site for
review by operations, dispatch or even customers, providing a real-time
view of asset locations and easy communication of new or rescheduled
jobs.
