IntelliTours Unveils GPS Audio Driving Tours For Garmin Nuvi
Written by IntelliTours
Wednesday, 01 August 2007
IntelliTours, the leading GPS tour-guide source, today launched GPS
audio driving tours for the Garmin Nuvi and other Garmin navigators,
and invited test drivers to sample the tours for free.
The beta release, in cooperation with Ride With Me Audio, is the first phase of IntelliTours pioneering plans for a national catalog of GPS audio tours for American road trips.
For a limited time, sample tours are available as free downloads from the IntelliTours Web site: www.intellitours.com. The samples include sections of Interstate 95 in New Jersey, Maryland (around Washington, D.C.) and Richmond, VA, and Route 1 through the Florida Keys.
The second phase, a full catalog of fee-based GPS tours for select Interstate highways, scenic byways and national parks, will be launched later in the year. Test drivers who sign up now will receive a free tour for their feedback.
Audio tours are the ultimate marriage of GPS navigation and old-fashioned story telling, said Jim Carrier, IntelliTours founder. Americans love to drive and listen. Weve created intelligent travel for the worldly explorer.
Loaded into compatible Garmin navigators, IntelliTours GPS tours play automatically at pre-chosen sites as the vehicle moves along the road. The Garmin units continue to function as navigators, with maps and turn-by-turn directions. Both audio sources play through Garmin speakers, FM transmitters or auxiliary audio jacks.
IntelliTours estimates that its tours will play on nearly one million Garmin devices sold to date. They include the Nuvi 300 and 600 series, the Zumo for motorcycles, and the following StreetPilot models: c550, 2730, 2820, 7200, 7500.
IntelliTours GPS tours are renowned for their professional quality, historic and geographic accuracy, and depth. They make road trips fun. They add value to your Garmin purchase. And they make obsolete the renting of special GPS tour devices.
Complete and simple instructions for downloading the tours are found at www.intellitours.com.
IntelliTours GPS audio tours are licensed for individual, personal use. We welcome inquires from tour and charters operators. Audio content providers are invited to submit proposals for the catalog.
