Remote Dynamics and Ascent Business Systems Announce Strategic Alliance to Provide Wireless Integrated Field Service Management & Telematics Solution

RICHARDSON, Texas--July 19, 2005--  Combined Solution Provides Critical Information to Support Fact-Based Decision Making and Help Determine True Cost of Service

Remote Dynamics, Inc. (NASDAQ: REDI), a leading provider of mobile resource management solutions for commercial fleets, announced today that Ascent Business Systems, Inc., a leading provider of field service software, has joined its REDIpartner(TM) program as a strategic, complementary solution provider. At a time when business owners are faced with increased competition, leaner profit margins, and escalating operational costs, the integrated Remote Dynamics/Ascent solution will enable mid-size to large enterprises to use field service ticket information and vehicle data to streamline and enhance operator efficiencies and improve cost control.

Remote Dynamics expects to provide the mobile communication link and the collection of vehicle-centric data to Ascent Business Systems' Point of Service solution through REDIview's open API. The combined solution should enable the corporate office to gather real-time information, such as vehicle location, job arrival and departure times, and cost of fuel per mile, and overlay this information with service technicians' job information, such as site, service type, job description, equipment, inventory and service agreement details. This all-inclusive information can be used to eliminate inefficient operations and determine the true cost of service.

"We are excited about this comprehensive solution offering that will give our customers a holistic view of their field service operations," says Scott Broudy, vice president of Channels and Partners at Remote Dynamics. "By seamlessly matching the vehicle telematics data with field service ticket information via REDIview's API, Ascent's clients should have the ability to utilize vehicle-centric data within the context of their enterprise systems. We expect that this will help ensure the integrity and timeliness of processing business information from which strategic business decisions are made."

"REDIview's fleet management technology provides our remote service ticket processing solution, Point of Service, with a real-time wireless data connection," according to Michael Hutar, president of Ascent Business Systems. "We expect that this capability will completely support the service ticket information needs between the home office and the service fleet. With the wireless transfer of service information, we believe that users of the combined REDIview and Point of Service solution should be able to significantly reduce operation costs related to traditional paper service tickets and manual work flow processes. I am very excited that the expected combination of the REDIview and Ascent solutions will offer small and medium service businesses the same wireless capability that until now has only been available for large national service fleet operators. Users of our solution should now be able to effectively compete and obtain the same profit-enhancing benefits as the 'big guys.'"
