BOCA RATON, FL June 29, 2007 LOC-AID, a leading provider of location-based applications and platforms, today announces the companys sponsorship of South Floridas first live location-aware mobile game. The event will be promoted by 93Rock and features popular venues in South Florida.
The format of the game is a two-stage treasure hunt, the first of which can be played using a SMS-capable cell phone. Players are directed to specific locations where they answer trivia questions about the venues. This part of the game will be conducted around South Florida throughout the month of July and will feature fun, quiz-show type trivia questions. The game is designed to drive traffic to the featured venues, where players interact with unique aspects of each venue to complete the puzzles. The second stage of the game increases the stakes and the speed of play while showcasing the richer environment provided by advanced handsets & networks. The 20 top-scoring winners from stage one and will play for the $10,000 grand prize. The Grand Prize Event will be begin at Shooters Café in Fort Lauderdale and feature nearby venues.
