In the clean up and recovery efforts for hurricane Dennis, many agencies will be in search of GIS data to support their efforts. The National map, Geospatial One Stop, and Geography Network are all excellent GIS resources offering data and web services. Below we've listed a number of specific agencies and regions that provide local, regional, and national scale data produts that users will find of interest. In particular, the Hurricane Ivan recovery data products including flood, storm surge, and high water data layers.
High Water Marks: WinZip archive containing the Shapefile (0.02 MB) of the coastal high water marks collected in Baldwin County, Alabama, and Escambia, Santa Rosa and Okaloosa Counties, Florida following Hurricane Ivan.
Surge Inundation Limits: WinZip archive containing the Shapefile (2.4 MB) of the inundation limits of the storm surge developed based on the coastal high water marks collected following Hurricane Ivan.
Surge Elevation Contours: WinZip archive containing the Shapefile (0.01 MB) of the preliminary surge elevation contours derived from the coastal high water marks collected following Hurricane Ivan.

Florida Biological Diversity Project -- The project goal is to map biological diversity in Florida. They are using LANDSAT for the land cover component. They have land cover classifications online.
