Telits GE864 Module to be Embedded in AutoGuard Devices
RALEIGH, N.C.-- Telit Wireless Solutions, Inc., the US-based mobile technology arm of Telit Communications (AIM:TCM), today announced that AutoGuard & Insurance GmbH has chosen Telit to power AutoGuards vehicle protection and monitoring products. Telits GE864 module was chosen out of numerous options evaluated by Polands market leader.
Under the terms of the partnership, Telits GE864 module will be integrated in AutoGuards S4, S2, S3A and S3L devices, as well as in its Personal Localizer.
AutoGuard S4 is designed to protect vehicles against theft and perform vehicle management functions.
AutoGuard S2 provides active vehicle protection and management. It combines various outstanding functionalities including receiving signals from 24 GPS satellites, a GSM mobile phone network and 24 hour surveillance through a control center.
AutoGuard S3 was designed in two versions: AutoGuard S3A and AutoGuard S3L. Both solutions allow vehicles to be monitored using a GSM network and located via GPS. AutoGuard S3A is primarily designed to perform a car alarm function, and AutoGuard S3L is a logistics device that offers an extended feature set.
The Personal Localizer is a portable device, similar to a mobile phone, which is equipped with a highly sensitive GPS receiver and features an integrated antenna, a GSM modem and a Bluetooth interface.
AutoGuards customers demand the best solutions to ensure their property is safe and secure, said Roger Dewey, President and CEO of Telit Wireless Solutions, Inc. AutoGuard is an important partner for Telit and we are proud to have been chosen by them.
The Telit GE864 module is ideally suited to AutoGuard applications. The advantages of the quadband GSM/GPRS module currently the worlds smallest are numerous. Due to its external dimensions of just 30 x 30 x 2.8 millimeters and its weight of seven grams, it is especially suitable for applications that require a very compact form. The GE864 is also ideal for applications with large volumes such as automotive and fleet management, due to the innovative Ball Grid Array (BGA) concept.
AutoGuard has been looking for a leading M2M partner to ensure we can continue to deliver innovative solutions to our customers, said Robert Rozeslaniec, President AutoGuard & Insurance GmbH. Telits ability to quickly respond to our stringent demands means that we can introduce our solutions to the market faster and with less complexity than our competitors. In the end, it became clear that Telit was the only vendor who could deliver the combination of cutting-edge innovation and a commitment to our success.
