Amp'd to End Dating Dry Spells with Exclusive Profiles and Mobile Connection to Leading Online and Events Community
ALISO VIEJO, Calif. & NEW YORK--July 5, 2005--Amp'd Mobile, the first fully integrated 3G mobile entertainment company for youth/young adults, and HurryDate, a leader in the social phenomenon "speed dating" and ever-popular online dating, today announced a three-year exclusive partnership to connect Amp'd Mobile's 3G EV-DO service to HurryDate's party and online dating community. The deal is poised to become the first mobile dating service to be connected to an online community as well as the premiere of video profiles featured on mobile handsets when Amp'd launches later this year.
Amp'd Mobile users will be able to access HurryDate's very popular online dating services - browsing profiles, sending virtual "Drinks" and emailing possible dates - from their mobile phones. They'll also be able to register to be alerted for parties in their area and sign up for upcoming events. HurryDate's parties allow singles to go on up to 20 real, live dates in one night.
"Bringing HurryDate and their user profiles to our 3G handsets is the kind of added-value service our on-the-go target market will appreciate," said Seth Cummings, vice president of wireless content and Internet services, Amp'd Mobile. "After scoping the online dating market, HurryDate stood out because of the direct synergy with our customer demo and their strategic commitment to extending their online service directly to wireless. Features such as video profiles take the 3G mobile dating proposition to the next level. We're excited to feature HurryDate only on Amp'd."
"Amp'd Mobile is the perfect partner to take HurryDate to the next level with wireless access to our singles anywhere across the country," said Ken Deckinger, CEO, HurryDate. "Using the speeds of a 3G network, HurryDate customers will be able to receive profile alerts to their Amp'd handset, then sort through any number of potential matches while they're running errands or stuck in a boring meeting. The launch of HurryDate Mobile is essential as it will connect our online community to the wireless service. Amp'd Mobile not only gelled with our vision of matching up singles in a quick, fun way, but will have the next-generation download speeds to truly utilize our service."
Leveraging Amp'd Mobile's deployment of BREW 3.1 for quick and easy video downloads, Amp'd Mobile users can check out potential dates faster than ever before. Amp'd outdoor broadcast trucks will be stationed outside many HurryDate events, allowing singles to record live profiles immediately, so taking that second look at a potential "real" date is practically instant. Amp'd Mobile's location-based services (LBS) will help singles find the nearest HurryDate event from the car, bar or buddy's house.
HurryDate has made over 2 million connections and boasts one of the most unique online dating communities within the 18-35 young and young professional demographic.
