No matter what your direction in life, get the most out of it with Wayfinder Navigator 7. Wayfinders award-winning mobile navigation system enhances mobile devices into fully fledged GPS navigators.
Stockholm, March 26th 2007 -- The market for navigation has seen rapid growth during the past few years. Increased business and leisure travel has spurned an interest and need in being able to get from A to B as smoothly as possible. The amount spent by consumers on mobile navigation hardware and software solutions for 2006 in EMEA was 4.7bn, an increase of 58% compared to 2005 when just under 3bn was spent. In 2007, the high-tech market analysis providers Canalys estimates 6.4bn will be spent, which is an increase of 36% compared to 2006.
Wayfinder has risen to the challenge of this demand as it has developed and is now introducing Wayfinder Navigator 7.
Were very excited about the coming months and proud of our technological advances and what we can offer our customers in comparison to our competitors says Magnus Nilsson, Wayfinder CEO.
Navigator originally hit the shelves in 2003 as an all-in-one answer to mobile phone users that gave voice, graphical and map turn-by-turn directions from A to B. For Wayfinder Navigator 7, Wayfinder have included content from Info USA and now offer 20 million Points-of-Interests across North America and Europe, including locations and information on restaurants, gas stations, ATMs, hotels, banks, theatres and much more besides.
Quicker downloads and improved usability helps to make the Navigator a stress-free tool, suitable for office and personal use. Users are faced with the right information, in quicker time and with simpler and less options at each stage. Navigator 7 has a powerful search engine and in collaboration with yellow pages in several countries, Wayfinder will ensure that users have as much information as possible about their desired destination. New locations and information can be sent to colleagues or friends by SMS, MMS or email and information such as phone numbers and web links can be saved under Favourites.
In addition to having access to over 20 million POIs, subscribers will also be able to take advantage of impressive features such as 3D maps that will be available in addition to the conventional, birds-eye-view maps. The 3D images allow the user to view the map the way they view their surroundings, making navigation easier and more realistic.
Whenever necessary, routes are automatically recalculated to give users the quickest way to their destination and the introduction of a night mode adapts the color and light strength of the screen, helping to make driving in the dark safer and easier on the eyes. Wayfinders Consumer studies indicated that 73 per cent of people find a bright screen disturbing when driving at night.
We are committed to improving the safety of our products, and that includes safety on the roads said Magnus Nilsson, We feel that the introduction of the Navigators night mode aids us in this endeavor.
With regularly updated maps, turn-by-turn voice instructions and visual guidance, Wayfinder can offer a navigation product that is as technologically sophisticated as it is stylish and compact. Not surprisingly, it has been awarded with a Handango Champion Award and was voted the Best GPS Solution by the Swedish mobile magazine Mobil.
Wayfinder Navigator 7 is supported in 17 languages and will be available from mid April 2007.
