SAN DIEGO, Feb. 15 -- Networkcar(R), a leader in wireless vehicle management, announced today the availability of a free white paper entitled "Optimizing Fleet Maintenance with Wireless Vehicle Management." Intended for managers of commercial fleets, the white paper explains how remotely monitoring engine diagnostics can facilitate preventative maintenance and reduce vehicle repair costs.
"Real-time access to diagnostic information makes it easier for fleet managers to proactively fix vehicle problems before they escalate into larger issues. For example, customers using our Networkfleet service receive instant notification when a vehicle has an engine problem so it can be repaired quickly," said Paul Washicko, president of Networkcar.
The white paper includes the following topics:
* Ways to reduce vehicle maintenance costs
* Lowering vehicle downtime by reducing unauthorized use, monitoring
Diagnostic Trouble Codes, and scheduling maintenance
* Improving maintenance accuracy with automatic odometer readings,
automatic recall notices, and online maintenance history
* Monitoring engine performance with Networkfleet wireless vehicle
management system
The Networkfleet wireless vehicle management system collects and transmits data wirelessly from a vehicle's engine computer and from a global positioning system (GPS). The location and diagnostic details of the vehicle, including precise diagnostic trouble codes, are made available to fleet managers through the Internet in the form of immediate e-mail alerts, summary e-mail reports and a Web-based software application.
Networkcar's (www.networkcar.com) wireless in-vehicle technology combines patented remote diagnostic systems with GPS-based Automatic Vehicle Location technology. The company has received several recognitions for its innovation including a 2006 American Business Award for Most Innovative Company and a 2006 Frost & Sullivan Technology Innovation Award for Wireless Emissions Monitoring. Networkcar is a wholly-owned subsidiary of HUGHES Telematics, Inc. and is headquartered in San Diego, CA.
