Call for Technical Paper Abstracts Extended to March 9

MELBOURNE, Fla., Feb. 6, 2007 -- Harris Corporation (NYSE: HRS), an international communications and information technology company, will be the industry host for MILCOM 2007, the Free World's premier military communications conference taking place October 29 -- 31 in Orlando, Florida, at the Gaylord Palms Resort and Convention Center. More than 4,000 government and industry representatives are expected at the 26th annual gathering.

"Harris is proud to host this distinctive conference, which brings together representatives from the government, military, academia and industry from around the world," said Bob Henry, executive vice president of Harris Corporation and executive chairman of MILCOM 2007. "MILCOM attracts the best and brightest experts in the various disciplines of communications technology. In the MILCOM tradition, we anticipate an outstanding series of technical presentations and discussions that will advance the state-of-the-art in military communications."

The MILCOM Technical Committee is now actively seeking authors of unclassified and classified technical papers -- up to DoD Secret -- to address this year's conference theme, "Interoperability: Policy to Performance."

Topics for MILCOM 2007 technical papers should cover communications and information processing system technologies and capabilities that address 21st Century communications challenges related to national defense, homeland security, disaster response and interoperability. The due date for abstracts has been extended to March 9, and draft papers must be submitted by April 20. Author notification is scheduled for May 25, and both classified and unclassified final papers are due by July 6.

MILCOM is co-sponsored by the Armed Forces Communications and Electronics Association (AFCEA) and the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE) Communications Society. Since its inception 25 years ago, this will be the first time that MILCOM will be held in the Southeastern U.S., following successful conferences in Washington, DC; Boston, Massachusetts; Atlantic City, New Jersey; San Diego, California; and other U.S. cities.
