New Tele Atlas and MCH GeoPoints Agreement Delivers High Quality Digital Map Content for Mission-Critical Applications
Emergency response teams and commercial enterprises to gain accurate, detailed location and services information for 1.3 million hospitals, schools, other facilities
Washington, D.C., ESRI Federal User Conference, January 9, 2007 Tele Atlas (FSE: TA6, EUNV: TA), a leading global provider of digital maps and dynamic content for navigation and location based solutions, and MCH GeoPoints, a leading compiler of geospatially-enabled institutional databases, announced today an agreement to integrate MCH GeoPoints data within Tele Atlas digital maps and points of interest (POI) products. Through the agreement, federal, state and local governments and commercial enterprises such as insurance and utility companies will have access to the highly accurate and up-to-date information for their mission-critical, map-based applications.
The agreement strengthens Tele Atlas leadership position in the emergency services sector, where the vast majority of 911 calls to 911 centers already are routed using Tele Atlas maps, and demonstrates the companies commitment to providing the highest quality digital map information for applications designed to ensure public safety and facilitate emergency response and disaster preparedness.
MCH GeoPoints will provide key content from places2protect, the companys exclusive database of location, feature attribute and key contact information for more than 1.3 million institutions, emergency medical services and critical access facilities, including hospitals, schools, daycare centers and government offices. These facilities are accurately positioned on the map using Tele Atlas proprietary Point Address database, which is designed to pinpoint street addresses to a physical building, site or parcel.
Our enterprise and public service partners deliver some of the worlds most essential navigation applications for emergency, business fleet and infrastructure services, said Jay Benson, vice president, business planning, Tele Atlas. Combining the strength of our map database with the proven track record of MCH GeoPoints critical institution data, we enhance the industry-specific POI data our partners need to deliver their vital services and products.
Tele Atlas has a superior ability to provide pinpoint geocoding with Address Points, and ensure emergency services personnel know exactly where they need to go, said Mary English, MCH Director of Strategic Alliances. Working with Tele Atlas furthers our commitment to rapidly provide critical location information in a user-friendly format. Customers in need of highly accurate and fresh map and POI data benefit from the powerful combination of places2protect and Tele Atlas digital map data.
