Real-time Traffic Data Now Available Via Your Mobile Devices
LAS VEGAS, Jan. 9 -- (CES) -- NAVTEQ (NYSE: NVT), a leading global provider of digital map data for location-based solutions and vehicle navigation, announced today from the 2007 International Consumer Electronics Show (CES) that they have been chosen by PTV America to supply NAVTEQ TRAFFIC MOBILE data. PTV America's suite of mobility programs provide unique navigation and routing technology that deliver dynamic, turn-by-turn directions via web, cellular networks and other emerging wireless technologies.
NAVTEQ TRAFFIC MOBILE aggregates traffic data from multiple sources for maximum accuracy and reliability while continuously streaming updates over cellular networks to provide real-time information to GPS-capable devices. Using location codes or TMC messages, NAVTEQ TRAFFIC MOBILE is tied to NAVTEQ(R) map data, resulting in a robust service that delivers rich data tailored for today's mobile market.
NAVTEQ TRAFFIC MOBILE is a real-time traffic data solution available in 73 markets that provides information such as:
-- Unplanned incidents like accidents and stalled vehicles
-- Planned incidents including road construction and closures

PTV America has integrated NAVTEQ TRAFFIC MOBILE data in both the MobilityPlatform and NaviGuide applications. The PTV MobilityPlatform is an innovative "toolbox" that allows service providers to easily and cost-effectively develop mobility and telematics services. It is a modular, high-performance geospatial platform for both developers and enterprise applications. The PTV NaviGuide server allows automobile manufacturers, wireless carriers, telematics service providers and software developers to offer customers off-board navigation using a GPS-capable device to receive dynamic navigation instructions.
