Tele Atlas' Popular Brand Icon Program Provides Instant Access to Largest Network of Banking Centers and ATMs in the US
LAS VEGAS and CHARLOTTE, N.C., Jan. 8 -- Consumers who are on-the-go now can instantly find the nearest Bank of America banking center and ATM locations through their personal and in-car navigation systems and mobile and wireless global positioning devices. Today, Bank of America (NYSE: BAC) announced it has teamed up with Tele Atlas (FSE: TA6; EUNV: TA), a leading global provider of digital maps and dynamic content for navigation and location based solutions, to make Bank of America locations around the country available through the Tele Atlas Brand Icon Program.
"Consumers don't have to look further than their fingertips or their car dashboard to find the nearest Bank of America ATM or banking center," says Sanjay Gupta, e-Commerce and ATM executive for Bank of America. "Now, they have instant access to the locations of our more than 5,700 banking centers or 17,000 ATMs across the country."
"With consumers increasingly leveraging digital maps as main sources of rich, detailed location-based content, the ability to easily pinpoint a preferred location or service is an increasingly important attribute to provide," said Wilson Kerr, business development director, Tele Atlas North America. "We view partnerships with brands of this caliber as both a powerful addition to our expanding Brand Icon program and as a differentiator for navigation platforms and LBS consumer applications."
Tele Atlas Brand Icons enhance Tele Atlas-powered navigation systems by visually representing the points of interest (POIs) of participating businesses as instantly recognizable logos to help mobile consumers to accurately identify specific brands of interest. Through the program, these branded icons are available for digital map application developers to incorporate into personal and in-car navigation systems and mobile, wireless and Internet map applications.
Bank of America joins over one hundred leading consumer brands such as Chevron, Circuit City, CompUSA, Hilton, McDonald's, Outback Steakhouse, Starbucks, Target, Texaco and Wal-Mart, which have partnered with Tele Atlas through its Brand Icons program to deliver branded POIs for the most popular food, gas, lodging, recreation, retail and, now, financial establishments.
