NAVTEQ Selected by Travroute Australia to Power Co-Pilot Portable Navigation Device

CHICAGO and MELBOURNE, Australia, Dec. 4 -- NAVTEQ (NYSE:NVT) , a leading global provider of digital map data for location-based solutions and vehicle navigation has been selected by Travroute Australia Pty Ltd and ALK Technologies, a leading developer of GPS navigation solutions and routing software, to provide map data for Travroute's Co-Pilot branded navigation software.
Travroute Australia is a leader in the growing Australian navigation market and was one of the first companies to launch in-vehicle satellite navigation for pocket PCs and laptops in November 2002. Travroute continues to break new ground being one of the first Australian navigation vendors to launch products using recently released NAVTEQ(R) map data for Australia. NAVTEQ data was selected for use in Travroute's full range of Co-Pilot Live products which cater to uses including: notebooks, pocket PC's and the New Symbian edition application for the Nokia N70 -- another Australian First. Running on Windows Mobile 5.0 for Pocket PC's and Windows XP for notebooks, Co-Pilot Live is compatible with over 500 devices in the Australian market.
With the award winning 'Co-Pilot Live' application, developed by ALK Technologies, Travroute provides Australians the opportunity to tour the country at the touch of a button. Co-Pilot Live hosts a range of features including Turn-by-Turn directions with Text-to-speech, automatic route re-calculation and desktop planning software.
