Travroute continues to break new ground being one of the first Australian navigation vendors to launch products using recently released NAVTEQ(R) map data for Australia. NAVTEQ data was selected for use in Travroute's full range of Co-Pilot Live products which cater to uses including: notebooks, pocket PC's and the New Symbian edition application for the Nokia N70 -- another Australian First. "NAVTEQ map data was the natural choice for us given the comprehensive coverage of the country and NAVTEQ's ongoing commitment to quality," stated Mr. Boyd Dainton, Managing Director, Travroute Australia. "We are committed to offering the highest quality data and routing experience to our customers no matter what device they chose."
NAVTEQ employs an extensive team of geographic analysts strategically located to drive Australia's roads, verifying and updating information in the NAVTEQ database. Detailed road network information, including a collection of more than 200 attributes such as one-way streets and turn restrictions, enables navigation systems to provide efficient routing.
"We are pleased to be working closely with Travroute and Co-Pilot as they drive innovation and growth of navigation in Australia," commented Kirk Mitchell, Director, Business Development for NAVTEQ. "Together, we look forward to continuing development in this exciting arena."
