SAN BRUNO, Calif., Dec. 4 -- Today Bluepulse, a technology company, is revolutionizing the way consumers will use their mobiles and content publishers will develop for mobile with the launch of bluepulse 2.0 -- a universal mobile platform.
Bluepulse 2.0 endeavors to change the way customers socialize and consume media on their mobile phones with its software that works on more handsets than any other mobile application the company is aware of. In this new release, bluepulse is uniquely combining consumers' insatiable appetite for communication with their desire to share content alongside a rich collection of repurposed web content and services. Bluepulse 2.0 is a free download.
Bluepulse provides a whole new world to explore on mobile. Customers create their own mobile Place on bluepulse where they add and can continually update their personal profile information, photos, videos, and other content. From their mobile Place, bluepulse users can text, chat and send broadcast messages for free within the community. Also from within bluepulse and with a few simple clicks, users can invite their friends to join bluepulse via free sms or email sent from their phone. Soon after downloading bluepulse, users will be able to explore the bluepulse community and broaden their world by meeting and making new friends around the globe and sharing content -- all from their mobile phone.
With this release of bluepulse, users can access a wide range of mobile widgets -- the best of the internet, repurposed specifically for mobile and built by the enthusiastic bluepulse community. This mobilized web content includes Flickr, Blogger, the local TV and movie guides, traffic cams, weather and so much more. Bluepulse even has MSN Messenger, Yahoo Messenger, and email widgets which allow users to access any POP3 account including Gmail, Yahoo mail and more. These widgets are fully integrated into the bluepulse platform and further enhance the community and sharing user experience. Bluepulse users can easily toggle between messaging, chatting, their mobile Place and widgets, and because of the caching and compression of data that the platform provides, the experience is fast and the data charges are kept very low. This means that bluepulse users can be in frequent -- or even constant -- contact with their friends while consuming minimal amounts of data.
Anyone with a mobile phone and a data plan (internet connection) can type get.bluepulse.com into their phone's WAP browser to download it. Go to www.bluepulse.com for more information.
"We are really excited about bluepulse 2.0," said founder and CEO Ben Keighran. "We think we have a product that mobile users have been waiting for -- a single platform, a single destination on their phone with the content they want to consume and share at their fingertips. Whether it is staying in touch with friends and family via chat and messaging or checking the Traffic Camera widget, we believe bluepulse 2.0 is a way to optimize the 'third screen.' Bluepulse 2.0 makes the most personal device -- the mobile phone -- even more personalized with new ways to connect with and stay connected with friends."
About the Company
Bluepulse is a privately-held company based in San Bruno, California and is the leader in enabling mobile internet applications and content on mobile phones. The company was founded in 2002 by mobile phone technologist and enthusiast Ben Keighran. A few years ago, Ben was trying to get his phone to control the music playing on his PC and after writing a program to do this, he realized there was no way to share this software with his friends since they all had different types of mobile phones. Ben stumbled across the classic mobile dilemma -- publishing and consuming content on mobile is a frustrating technical minefield because there is no standard platform for the content. Build a web site and it works on all PCs, but this universality has not existed for mobile phones. Solving how media gets published and consumed on mobiles became Ben's obsession.
Ben has built this universal platform and the result is the bluepulse 2.0 release in late 2006.
Bluepulse solves the traditional technical dilemma of publishing and consuming content on mobile. On the bluepulse platform, content publishers, developers and consumers can all get what they want and need from mobile with one application. The bluepulse application works on Java MIPD1, MIDP2 and Symbian mobile phones on any internet-enabled mobile network, anywhere in the world.
Bluepulse is a free download available by entering get.bluepulse.com into your mobile phone's WAP browser.
