AeroScout Chosen by IBM to Showcase Integrated Location Solution at French Open
SAN MATEO, Calif., June 22 -- AeroScout, Inc., a pioneer in the field of Enterprise Visibility Solutions, today announced that it was chosen by IBM to demonstrate real-time location technology at the recent Roland-Garros Tennis Tournament (also known as the French Open.) The solution, developed by IBM with the support of AeroScout, was utilized at the tournament to wirelessly locate IBM staff and detect open seating for IBM guests at the matches.
IBM is a longtime sponsor of the Roland-Garros Tennis Tournament, and chose AeroScout as a groundbreaking technology partner to help ensure that the operations of the two-week-long tournament ran smoothly and efficiently. Staff and visitors to the IBM booth used the AeroScout Visibility System, together with IBM servers and software, to determine the location of on-site staff carrying Wi-Fi phones. In addition, guests wearing small, battery-powered AeroScout Active RFID tags were tracked in order to show a real-time count of seat availability.
"The success of AeroScout and IBM integrated location solutions at the French Open demonstrates the unique value proposition of Wi-Fi-based visibility," said Andris Berzins, VP of Marketing and Business Development, AeroScout. "As an IBM Business Partner, we were honored to be chosen to showcase this powerful technology and are delighted to have demonstrated how simple it is to install -- a fully-functional system was installed in under three days."
