Seeking VARs, Software Developers, Integrators and Partners for Product Line of Rugged Portable Data Terminals
IRVINE, Calif.--June 22, 2005--SmarTerminal Computers Inc., a provider of rugged industrial data capture portable terminals, today announced its partner program for industrial distributors, Value Added Resellers (VARs), system integrators and consultants in the healthcare, manufacturing, transportation and logistics industries.
The SmarTerminal partner program offers qualified partners the opportunity to enhance their revenue and current product offerings through reselling, integrating or implementing SmarTerminal's product line of rugged portable data terminals. The company's product line includes industrial PCs, tablet PCs and handheld terminals. All partners will receive training on SmarTerminal's products and have access to the company's Application Programming Interfaces (APIs) when appropriate.

SmarTerminal is seeking partners in the United States that are experienced in the industrial data terminal business. In addition, potential partners should have their own sales and customer support organizations.

MiniStation 10, 12, 15 series
MiniStation is a rugged industrial PC for forklift and vehicle mount systems. It is designed to be used in the most adverse environments with full PC functionality. The MiniStation puts wireless supply chain management at the data source--the warehouse floor, the police car--for the toughest data collection applications. The MiniStation integrates Bluetooth/WiFi technology together and advanced processors including the Pentium-M CPUs for reliability and speed with the stringent IP 65 rating making it compatible with dust and water.
SmartTablet
SmartTablet is a rugged tablet PC for mobile users in demanding environments. Lightweight and ergonomically designed, the SmartTablet PC helps enterprises increase productivity and flexibility by providing the most comprehensive wireless capabilities for mobile applications across Bluetooth, local-area WiFi by the internal module and GPS and GSM/GPRS wide-area networks by the CF card module. SmartTablet is only tablet PC in the industry to offer a Windows XP embedded platform from an IDE or CF card system. It also supports Windows XP Pro, Home Edition. SmartTablet also meets the stringent IP 54 dust and water resistance rating making it waterproof and dustproof and ideal for applications in manufacturing, public safety and transportation industries.
SmartMate-2D, SmartMate-RF series
SmartMate is a handheld terminal that incorporates the industry's first integrated 13.56 MHz type RFID scanner with internal antenna and bar code scanner, or imager for reading one or two-dimensional symbology as well as conventional bar codes. SmartMate series products are ideal in mobile work environments and utilize advanced Bluetooth/WiFi through an internal module and Microsoft Windows CE technologies with the stringent IP 65 rating for dust and water. This will be generally available in July 2005. Other RF-ID scanners including 900 MHz and 2.4 GHz models will be announced later this year.
