DUBLIN, Ireland-- Research and Markets (http://www.researchandmarkets.com/reports/c43767) has announced the addition of In-Depth Analysis: Smartphones in China: Market Outlook and Consumer Behavior & Expectations to their offering

Although the Smartphone market in China now seems ambiguous, it is projected to prevail in the next five years. Chinese enterprise users are not yet ready to adopt this technology. More importantly, the awareness and acceptance of the variety of MVAS among Chinese Smartphone users has yet to be improved. However, over 30% of the 400 million users have been reached for handset users in China. In big cities, like Beijing and Shanghai, a 60% penetration rate has also been achieved. With the advent of 3G, Smartphones will see a stronger market. It will become all about the business oriented client equipment. Symbian, Linux and Microsoft’s Windows Mobile are the most accepted Smartphone operating systems in China. Symbian will still dominate the market but will face a strong challenge from Linux and Microsoft. Linux will improve its influence and eventually gain 34% of the market in 2010.

Microsoft will continue to gain market share at Symbian’s expense. The homegrown OS will have a long way to go. The market share map will see some shifts in the next five years.

This report assesses the current situation of the Smartphone market and future trends over the next five years. It also presents a Smartphone OS analysis by comparing user behavior and the Smartphone value chain, which will give clear indicators to handset vendors, application developers, and chipset vendor.
