Powered by Microsoft® Windows Mobile® 5.0, the SPV M3100 supports Orange's push email solution, Orange Mail, as well as Direct Push functionality available with the Microsoft Messaging and Security Feature Pack (MSFP), which provides users with immediate access to Outlook® information on the move. Users can also access everyday business applications like Word Mobile, Excel® Mobile and calendar functions, making the SPVM3100 the ultimate solution for business travellers.
"The latest addition to our groundbreaking Signature range demonstrates the powerful tools available to today's mobile professionals," commented Philippe Bernard, Executive Vice President, Orange Business Solutions. "For 'heavy data' users who need access to their work documents and applications on the move, the SPV M3100 offers a genuinely viable laptop alternative - combining all the functionality customers normally enjoy in the office with the ability to connect with the fastest-possible data connection, whatever the location," he added.
The SPV M3100 offers connectivity with multiple wireless bearer networks, including 3G, Wi-Fi, EDGE and HSDPA (where available), ensuring the fastest possible performance for business travellers. It is the first SPV device to offer quad-band GSM connectivity, ensuring connectivity in most parts of the world.
The SPV M3100's sophisticated design, including full sliding qwerty keyboard, allows users to create and edit presentations and documents on the move; share files via Bluetooth®, USB and infrared connections; and insert images and sounds. Orange latest Signature device also connects wirelessly to the internet via public WiFi hotspots. Generous 128Mb internal memory provides ample storage for important documents, calendar and contact entries. This flexible functionality is packed into a compact, lightweight device, ensuring maximum mobility.
"The SPV M3100 provides the latest evidence of the strong relationship Microsoft enjoys with Orange and is another great example of the innovation possible on the Windows Mobile software platform," said Marianne Röling, Regional Director, Mobile & Embedded Devices Division, Microsoft EMEA. "Based on Windows Mobile 5.0, the SPV M3100 is the World's first HSDPA enabled 3G Pocket PC, which will deliver high speed internet and Direct Push email. Now, mobile users will have broadband-like speeds on their mobile phone."
