Solution Provides End-to-End, Real-time Information Between Field and Back Office
HUNTSVILLE, Ala., June 12, 2006 Intergraph Corporation
today announced its OneMobile enterprise information application for utility and communications companies. OneMobile provides an end-to-end, real-time information link between field service technicians and the corporate back office resulting in enhanced productivity and efficiency. In doing so, it increases business productivity by shortening the data acquisition chain the time it takes to obtain information and act on that knowledge.
Until now, field personnel have had to rely on several applications to manage routine tasks such as outages, inspections, repairs and connect and disconnects. Intergraph's OneMobile geospatial resource management platform solves this issue by facilitating connectivity for interrelated systems including geospatial information systems, outage management, mobile workforce management, and work management all from within the vehicle in the field. With OneMobile, field personnel can use one geospatial user interface (GUI) to receive multiple types of work, view and redline facility map data, share resources across departments, and communicate with back-office applications. OneMobile supports workflows including design, inspection, damage assessment, viewing, routing, and dispatching.
"Until now, linking mobile workers with business-critical applications required complex mobile middleware, but with OneMobile, field service technicians can access and easy-to-use interface that is compatible with their existing mobile platforms and expands their ability to accept, execute and report any type of field work," said Jay Stinson, Vice President of Intergraph Utilities and Communications.
In order to facilitate ease of use for end-users, OneMobile uses an easy and intuitive interface that is modeled on existing field service platforms so field service personnel will not have to learn a new application.
"Having a single robust platform that can manage multiple processes with an easy-to-use interface has been our priority in designing OneMobile. It will allow field crews to be quickly trained and operate more efficiently, respond faster to customer needs, and readily adapt to changing field conditions," said Stinson.
