We
are currently looking for a Manager, Global Content - #13486 in Chicago,
IL.
Position
Summary:
As
Manager, Global Content, you will be responsible globally for third-party
content receiving, evaluation, storage and access. This position requires critical
relationship-building with various stakeholders to ensure efficacy of processes
and tools in that realm and in return get buy-in. You will leverage those
relationships to oversee the successful deployment and utilization of a new
centralized metadata/content management system. Overall, you will drive how NAVTEQ handles content from the moment it
comes in the door until it is staged for production.
Responsibilities:

Understand how third-party content receiving and evaluation processes tie into
NAVTEQ’s overall commitment to Quality; lead the effort to globalize these
processes.

Build relationships with a variety of departments to promote successful
adherence to global content receiving and evaluation processes.

Oversee roll-out of a new metadata/content management system (EGIS) and
leverage relationships to maximize buy-in and utilization; report up on
utilization metrics and qualitative feedback.

Manage funding and staffing requests for EGIS support.

Identify content evaluation needs/gaps for a variety of existing and new
content types; work across departments and divisions to put appropriate
processes in place.

Oversee global content receiving and evaluation process documentation – ensure
alignment between the documentation and operational reality.

Represent the department at cross-functional meetings and promote our role as
data quality leaders.

Align product development lifecycle (N-Gates) requirements with existing and
future content evaluation processes.

Directly supervise quality/receiving operational team lead and EGIS project
manager.
Qualifications
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree required.
- Demonstrated excellent interpersonal communication and relationship-building skills across all levels and multiple divisions of an organization.
- Min. 4 years in project leadership, overall 6 years of experience.
- Comfortable being the “go to” person for third-party content quality, storage, metadata, and access issues.
- Knowledge of GIS concepts – special consideration will be given to those with ArcGIS experience.
- 20% to 25% Domestic and International travel.
