The iPhone Quality team is looking for a motivated, highly-technical GPS QA Engineer with excellent problem solving and communication skills. You will join a dynamic team responsible for qualifying the latest iPhone products. Your focus will be testing the GPS functionality in Apple’s innovative new phone. The successful candidate will complete both documented and adhoc testing to ensure high quality releases.
Qualifications
Required Experience:
* EE degree, CS degree or equivalent
* 2-4 years of experience in location/GPS based services
* Strong scripting with Perl or Python and automation skills
* Be able to write and execute automated/manual test cases and test plans for testing location technologies
* Familiarity with A-GPS
* Experience with GPS technologies in mobile devices
* Must be able to work independently and should be proactive
* Demonstrated ability to own a complete functional area of an application or product
* Good understanding of SQA methodologies & practices
* Excellent communication & interpersonal skills
* Must be detail oriented
* Comfortable with working on hardware and in supporting engineering in debugging/reproducing hard to reproduce issues
Preferred Experience:
* Understanding of NMEA a plus
* Experience in competitive analysis of GPS products a plus
* Understanding of cellular technologies
* Experience in automating Phone testing
* Experience in using Unit Testing frameworks
* C coding experience a plus
