Our client is designing a next generation mobile LBS application targeting the $100B mobile internet business and consumer market. They are creating a new mobile usage paradigm that will deliver mobile information to the mass market. Beyond music, videos, ringtones, wallpaper and games…beyond social networking, restaurant reviews and movie tickets…the promise of the mobile internet is to deliver critical real time, individualized, location based data to the user. They will deliver the data and the phone application will be the repository for that data, warehousing it for perusal both online and offline.
JOB DESCRIPTION:
Determine the server technology stack (currently LAMP based) and target mobile development platforms for staggered product release, starting with J2ME.
Participate in selection of project communication tools, versioning, documentation, buglisting, project management, code profiling, testing and regression methods.
Defining the software development and delivery compute environment from the ground up.
Work with UI designer to enhance and deliver a frame-by-frame mobile application specification from existing specification.
Specify mobile file system repository for storing data.
Design integrated browser access and third party mapping technology.
Database server acting as a GIS for capturing, storing, analyzing, managing and presenting LBS data delivered by a third party.
Widget SDK for fast development of mobile websites that deliver content from various business vertical markets – retail, healthcare, industrial, transportation, education.
Secure, web based user registration, data storage and mobile/home PC access and synchronization.
Interface modules to third party social network servers.

Qualifications
Requirements
8+ years experience in a lead architect role.
Impressive coding skills.
Ability to architect screaming fast mobile internet application with supporting LBS server database, and mobile web site generation SDK.
Fast decision maker who understands how to leverage open-source technology and can deliver an application that supports millions of mobile website hits daily on a budget.
Understands the trade-offs between cool technology and get-it-out-the-door goals.
Knowledge of J2ME, JavaScript, CSS, C++, LAMP preferred, or expert knowledge on other stacks (Struts, Spring, .NET), LBS, MySQL, Ajax.
Webkit integration experience.
Strong experience delivering mobile applications in both J2ME and native mode.
Expertise in at least one native mobile platform windows mobile, symbian, moto linux.
iPhone knowledge is a plus.
Retail or healthcare software experience a plus.
Compensation
$85-120k
